Brian James is not only a founder member of The Damned but also of the infamous Lords Of The New Church. Composer of the classic songs New Rose and Neat Neat Neat; Brian was the prime musical architect of the original sound of The Damned. New Rose was famously the first Punk single and the albums Damned Damned Damned and Music For Pleasure, which both bear Brian's unique sonic imprint, remain influential modern classics. Influenced himself by the MC5 and The Stooges, Brian would later tour with both the mercurial Wayne Kramer and the irrepressible Iggy Pop and release several solo albums before forming his own band in the shape of The Brian James Gang.
